Raspberry Pi FM Radio Transmitter + Alarm Clock
I like to wake up to the sound of peaceful music, but my alarm clock only plays ring tones or radio stations that I don't really enjoy. I downloaded my Spotify library onto my Raspberry Pi and I configured my Pi microcontroller to transmit a FM radio signal that my radio alarm clock receives. The transmission is scheduled to begin and end at the same time everyday (6 AM to 7 AM). The Pi transmits an FM signal at the lowest possible frequency in the FM Broadcast Band (88.1Hz) to preserve audio fidelity. The Pi transmits a 16-bit mono .wav format. The antenna it uses is a wire with a length of 50 cm since that maximizes the fidelity of the signal.
